Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've been knitting mini cakes for my granddaughter to play with, while listening to an audiobook, so there's a slice of battenburg cake and a jam tart to go with yesterday's cupcake. They're all about 1" across.

HI GUYS! I am knitting along on a big garter-stitch shawl, and my Mr has gotten a wild hair to knit himself some mittens so he's starting to figure out magic-loop knitting.

(He has actually been knitting longer than me: When knitting became a 'craze' in the early 2000s, with the stitch-n-bitch books, we tried to learn. HE was the one to be able to figure out basics from the book instructions, and he knit a couple scarves, and got back into it a few years ago when my daughter was like, "I wanna learn to knit" and I was like, "Talk to your father." I remember hearing a loud, "This is so much easier with YouTube!" and then he knit like five hats. He hasn't branched out much from that, though, so the mittens thing is kind of exciting.)

Well done to your Mr, more guys should take up knitting. Some of the great knitwear designers are men. Would love to see some of his finished items! And yours of course.

Sewing check-in for today! A short time ago I made a silk early 14th century gown and the sleeves were too short. I need to take the old (not old, I just finished making the gown) sleeves off and sew the new ones on. The sleeves have been sitting idle for a few weeks and I'd like to start to get them on! I need to wear this at an event soon, so I really need to get on with this!

The last of my cards for this long weekend I've been having are done. I haven't packed it all away, just left it all in a neat sort of pile.

Haven't gotten much writing done at all which is a bit of a bummer but the mojo isn't quite there so think I'll just let it go until it comes back.

Turns out I can't count.. bonus icon for the mod. Hope these are okay! And I hope I did the right thing posting them in comments like this. I've only just found the place to upload more user icons for myself too. I swear I'm not that hopeless usually. It's just a bit different to LJ, where I do other medieval girly stuff and am used to the commands. A big Sorry to everyone if this was the wrong way to get these across. I'm new. I'll get the hang of it, I promise! The Bernie one is my favourite!
