Even next week/starting tomorrow is fine, for me! Do you have guidelines for the check-in posts (what time they should go up, if you want me to brainstorm questions in advance so you can approve them, etc)?

Next week would be good for me considering my computer almost died on me today and is barely limping along. My friend got it working more or less, but I have no idea when it will pack up completely and in lockdown, getting a new one will be a nightmare.

I hadn't even thought of guidelines, so I'll just say do what works best for you. As for questions, surprise me! My brain could do with a break from trying to think of something ;)

One of the recent posts mentions books we all have on the go. I'd love a check in post about what books we are all reading and haven't finished. It's not craft related, but it sure sounded like we all have a few going at once!

I just learned a cool new technique (a double yarn-over buttonhole), which gave me an idea for some questions for the community. What new techniques have people learned this year? Which ones are their favorites?

* What kinds of yarn do you like?

* What is a craft that you tried but abandoned?

* Do you stop to talk with other crafters at a street fair or craft show?

* What is a cool craft find that you got at a flea market or rummage sale?

* When learning a new art or craft, do you prefer level-grinding the basics, skipping ahead to the cool techniques, or a mix of both?

* What kinds of organizers do you like to hold your arts and crafts supplies?

* What are some loose parts you always keep around (e.g. googly eyes, mirror tiles, popsicle sticks)?

* What are some adhesives you use a lot?

* Which historic crafts do you like watching or doing (e.g. ceramics, spinning, leatherworkng)?

* What modern crafts do you like watching or doing (e.g. diamond art, fuse beads, sticker collage)?

Maybe run each question for a week or so? That's enough time for most folks to catch it, but not get tired of it.

I've left them running longer simply because I ran out of questions. Now I HAVE some, I can run them for a couple of weeks to give everyone who might want to time to participate. I know people sometimes don't check-in for a week or two. Usually try to change questions on a Sunday, when I don't have prompts to post on my writing communities, so look for one then. If I don't lose track of what day it is...
