Check-In Post July 27th 2021
Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've knitted the cuff and the opening 42 pattern rows, which sounds a lot but the rows are shorter than for the back, so it's really a lot less than yesterday's marathon effort. Also trickier than the back because of having to incorporate the increases into the pattern, but it's going okay so far.
I've been sitting here knitting, listening to music, and watching Chinook helicopters. Weeks can pass without sight nor sound of a single one. This evening I've seen three, or possibly the same one three times, all following the same flight path. Looked like they were coming in to land. There's an army depot only a few miles away, that's where they were heading.

Even with the shorter sleeve rows you're shooting up the arm.

We had thunder during the night, but no lightning, then just heavy rain this afternoon. It was supposed to be a light shower...

The coaster kit was a cheap kit and using almost a plastic mesh. The coasters will be about 13cm square when complete, so larger than a standard drinks coaster.

I'm currently doing a brutally vivid red, white and blue shawl in regular squares, which, when it has achieved 8 x 8 squares, will be surrounded by crotcheted stripes, and will go with my collection of lap blankets destined, eventually, for the dementia ward in the local hospital.

The new lap blanket sounds very pariotic! I'm sure it will be greatly appreciated by the hospital.

Good luck with finding the perfect items within budget for furnishing your home. Having a craft / work room is going to be awesome!
