Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

We've had a bit of rain, but not a great deal - and one clap of thunder, but no storm.

Even with the shorter sleeve rows you're shooting up the arm.

We keep being promised rain but the meagre precipitation that actually arrived this afternoon hardly counts. I would appreciate having my water butts refilled, and not needing to water everything!

I've posted my monthly craft post over on my journal Some new pics, some I've already shared here.

Thank you very much.

The cross stitch looked great and I was fascinated by the coasters kit. I'd never thought of doing that with a piece of long stitch cloth. Very clever.

Thank you very much.

The coaster kit was a cheap kit and using almost a plastic mesh. The coasters will be about 13cm square when complete, so larger than a standard drinks coaster.

I'm rather later than promised, but here is my Reyna shawl, finished although not blocked.

multicoloured knitted shawl

I'm currently doing a brutally vivid red, white and blue shawl in regular squares, which, when it has achieved 8 x 8 squares, will be surrounded by crotcheted stripes, and will go with my collection of lap blankets destined, eventually, for the dementia ward in the local hospital.

Thank you! At the moment, the hospital are still not accepting donations, so the pile is growing!

That shawl is absolutely gorgeous! What a lovely thing to be able to now wear.

Thank you! I have to remind myself to wear shawls and scarves, and it's quite surprising which ones get to the top of the rotation, but this one should find a place quite easily.

That's very pretty!

I've done little bits of cross stitching here and there. There's not too much to go before it will be finished, but mostly my time is taken up organising house stuff, paperwork, finances, trawling the internet furniture stores for ideas and prices for stuff to fill my new home on my budget. Creative, affordable home made decor will come much much later, but looking forward to having a whole room that is just one side for work and one side for craft.

Have you got Freecycle locally? It can be quite a good source of reasonable stuff, and free! It is *so* nice to have a proper place for the craft Stuff.

Yes that is a bit exciting. And I'm hoping to create a book nook as well with lots of shelves and a nice big comfy chair I the upstairs retreat corner. So many ideas but need to start with the practical must haves first.

Even little bits of cross stitching will mount up and give you a personalised look to your new home.

My goodness, I know! I have so many finshed pieces but they're all unframed or mounted yet. I'll need to finally find places to hang some of them. Definitely my peony roses and some of the Japanese flower and butterfly ones. Even my seashells one I'm doing now should be able to find a place.
