Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I usually have something on TV, or a DVD while knitting. I used to read a lot, which is easier on purl rows than pattern rows, I still do sometimes. Music can be good too.

Three inches sounds like good progress on an afghan. Knitting anything blanket sized is HARD, and gets harder as it gets heavier.

How many stitches are there to a row?

218 stitches per row. My comment was a little unclear; It's been a few days since I got that 10" measurement so I probably did closer to 1.5" yesterday, not 3". Still, progress is progress!

I did some math based on progress so far (I was a math major, so I'm a sucker for statistics) and to finish by July 1st I should do 14-15 rows a day. I've been up since 5:30 this morning and it's now 11:57 am but I only got half a row done so far. Instead of working on it I refreshed websites all morning, sigh. I'd better get cracking.

Even 1-5 inches is still good progress.

That's a lot of rows a day! Do you think you'll make it? It's so easy to get sidetracked on the internet. I waste time every morning doing online jigsaw puzzles.

It's possible. I don't work due to mental illness so I have a lot of time available for crafting. I'm just not sure I have the stamina to do that much per day.

The party is sometime in July, I'm not exactly sure when but I think after the 4th sometime, so I have extra days to work on it. And I've been telling myself my hard cutoff date is whenever he leaves for college, which gives me even more time. But yeah, hoping to have it done by the party so I can give it to him then.

I'm in a similar situation, although having the time doesn't necessarily mean being able to work on something every day.

I, too, like moderately interesting TV shows running in the background while crafting. Not DVDs; those are stuff I'm actually interested in, so I'd stop and watch. But things like baking shows or semi-documentary cop shows are excellent background noise. *g*

If it's something I know well, I can just watch the most interesting bits, but when I'm knitting I don't have to watch my hands all the time.
