Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I've done a few more rows of my knitted square. I don't have the right sized needles, so am using slightly larger, but since it's for a throw it just means the final throw will be bigger. And the size will also be determined by how many squares I want to knit.

And I've cross stitched some of the grass round the bandstand.

There's a knitalong with a new square every week which I'm planning on following.

That's a cool idea. Will it be a different knitting stitch for each square?

I think it's more likely to be different patterns, the current square is two colours. I've also got some magazine patterns I could include if I want to.

Errr... sorry for being an ignorant fool, but what is a knitalong?

Not ignorant at all. A traditional knitalong would mean everyone knitting at the same time. Here the idea is that a pattern is provided and the participants knit the square(s) in time for the next pattern. I like the idea because it gets me started on something in stages.

Oh, I see. Thank you. Not being a native speaker sometimes I do have my difficulties with certain expressions. It sounds like an interesting cooperation.

That's the great thing about making throws and blankets; you can just work with what you've got and they'll still work out fine.
