Check-In Post April 27th 2021

Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Supposed to rain here tonight and through tomorrow, so I will also not need to water.

I was happy today to see a redbud sapling that I thought died over winter start to leaf out!

We just had a few drops, not enough to do anything.

Even wet days are good for garden prepping! :)

I started a baby blanket today. Cousin's baby was born last night. My mom had told me baby was due in June, but turns out she was guessing and didn't update me when she was told later. Named Eleanor, and I'm using Lion Brand Mandala in colorway Valkyrie.

There's a second baby, it is going to debut on Friday. That cousin decided to be surprised about girl/boy, but is also really weird about "appropriate" colors. (eye roll) So I was going to wait. I just didn't think they would be the same week! :D

Maybe that's what they will do. I was wondering, because we already have an Ellie.

What lovely wool. Yes, a bit of a surprise have two blankets to knit at once.

Last time there were two close together I made the same pattern in different colors. We will see how I feel about it when the first is closer to done.

My goodness! Lots happening for you there! And foe heaven's sake... appropriate colours? So, everything?

I was ready to give up for the night, but I got the spinning wheel out and spun for about 20 minutes before going to bed. Still dreaming of handspun embroidery thread and patterns.

I weeded the main garden bed last night, left the hardening plants outside overnight since it was supposed to only get to 6C and rain, and hey, natural watering from the rain! I’ll need to watch them today, though, to make sure the ones without drainage in their containers don’t get overdone as it’s meant to rain all day.

Spinning is so relaxing! Especially after gardening.
