I've been having a hellish day. First the fire started smoking which means I'll be without heat until I can get the chimney swept even though it was done less than two months ago, and then nothing would load on my computer. My friend managed to get it going, just but it's on its last legs so if I vanish I hope someone will jump in and keep things going until I can get a new computer or persuade an old one to do the necessary.

Anyway, the thing I'm proudest of is a Holly Fairy cross stitch I did on 22 count fabric and made into a Christmas card for my mum. I've still got the card somewhere so when I eventually find it I'll post a picture. I was really pleased with how it turned out and mum loved it.

Today, I just managed 14 rows of the blobby sweater.

(hullo i'm new!) I'm working on a scarf for myself right now in an asexual flag colorway (it's a fingering-weight merino, it's so soft and it's so pretty!) I started it a couple days ago after Eight Entire Months of not having the mental space to do anything with crocheting because of the pandemic. It's coming along slowly, but it's coming along, and it's so nice to watch it come together and to be able to Be Making Something again!

craft i'm proudest of: I made my own mezuzah recently--it's basically a clear mezuzah case with layers of gem chips in sixteen different colors and the scroll off to the side. it's really lovely to look at, it was delightfully fun to make, and it's on my office door so I get to look at it every day :)

So glad you're at last able to rediscover your crafting mojo and start making something. The scarf sounds very cosy.

How wonderful to make your mezuzah. I'm a big fan of gemstones, and that's a lovely way to use them, with all the different colours on display. Definitely something to be proud of.

I really don't want to vanish but it was a very close call today, it was gone 2pm by the time I could get my computer to do anything. I turned it on at 10.30 in the morning.

Yay for creative cardmaking! Glue is a nuisance, goes everywhere you don't want it to. Be careful you don't get stuck to anything!

Knitted a bit, but ended up just frogging all of it because let me tell you, doing cables when you're exhausted and going on two total hours of sleep is Not A Good Idea. Thankfully I'm just making these for fun for myself, so it's not a problem.

Been there, found I'd twisted the cable the wrong way >.< Interesting effect but not what I was going for.

Hopefully when you continue it'll go right for you.

I realized it was a lost cause when after slipping 2, knitting 2, I was left staring at the two slipped stitches in wonder for a solid 20 seconds, seemingly having forgotten what I was supposed to do with them. Checking back what I had knitted to that point made me decide to just frog and pretend no knitting was actually done today... :D

Hopefully, after an actual night of sleep, I will at least not seemingly forget how to knit midway doing it!

Being that tired makes the simplest tasks impossible. Anything intricate such as knitting is a leap too far.

Thanks. I just hope I can book the sweep quickly so I won't be without heat for too long, and that my computer will keep going long enough for me to replace it. It's been on its way out for a couple of years, but now it's about done for.

I managed two rows on the baby blanket today, so that felt pretty good.

Something I'm pretty proud of making was the tatted wedding veil for a friend (made during 3L and also while I was studying for the bar). Given how badly that marriage ended I'm guessing there are no pictures.)

Tonight it's supposed to go down to 2 C, the coldest night so far *sigh* At least it might reach 11 C during the day for a couple of days, but then it's supposed to be highs of 7 C, plus rain. This will not be fun.
