Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: Do you remember the first thing you made in school?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

We've had rain all night; nothing while I had to roam the town in the morning, fortunately.

Good that it was overnight and didn't make your day more difficult. =)

Today I worked more on the painting and have found a pattern to make a beanie hat that I had planned. I am going to try starting that this evening. I did start it earlier in the day but the phone rang and I had to put it down before I’d got far enough around the magic circle stitches for it to hold together.

-Good luck with the beanie, I hope you don't get interrupted this time.

I also visited Tedi (a shop that sells cockery, gifts, craft supplies, party items and, and, and...), where I bought some cheap pins and needles for the pincushions/sewing kits I'm planning to make later. And a small crafting kit to make bunnies out of pom-poms, which was totally unnecessary but I couldn't resist. So, if I ever get around to make those plaited baskets, I'll have something to put into it. Aside from paper grass and tiny chocolate eggs, that is.

The craft kit sounds cute!

Lessons learned: tighter stitches next time. Also it would go faster and smoother with a curved needle, so I need to see if I can find some in my stash or pick them up. Also the linen thread was good but I think maybe it needs waxing. The waxed thread I already have was way too heavy for that book project, so I'll stick with the size thread I used on this project. Pretty pleased with how it turned out.
Today I started work on another tatted hanky edging. Didn't make it super far, and I started work using a bobbin of thread from the previous project, so soon I'll have to refill the bobbin and join new threads again, but once I'm past that tedious part, I think it'll go fast, and in a couple of iterations I won't need to look at the pattern much to work.

Yay for more tatting! Everything is easier once the pattern is in your head.
