Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

As yesterday, 8 spiders completed and 2 more to do. I've also cut out 20 pairs of eyes and fluffed the feet on 20 sets of legs.

Nothing done today. Spent the morning at the dentist's, then had to do grocery shopping... and then I was dead. Well, I did buy some nail art stickers (meant for paper crafts), but that was all in craftiness for today.

Cast on the second part A piece and stopped after row 11 of 33. Also, before and after photos of the other cover-up I dyed (you can tell the natural light was very different on these subsequent days, lol):

Gave up and switched to the standard squaring-the-circle granny pattern for this project. I should've known better than to try something tricky for a project that's meant to sit in my lap while I multitask. I guess there's a lesson to be learned in every project!

I've been thinking about that, why I'm happier to screw up and revise on the fly when I crochet than when I write. I love to fiddle around, prototype things, start projects but not finish, try something just for proof of concept… but I feel so much pressure to write well that I can't get back to that feeling of "just because." It's nice to have something to go back to that no one expects me to be good at.

Hopefully the more straightforward granny squares will work better.

Writing is something that can generate stress if you're too much of a perfectionist. I am, in a way, but I also write for several weekly challenges where I have to get something written and posted quickly. After the challenge ends I can fiddle around until I'm completely happy with what I've written, but it's helped me to stress less about getting it right straight away.
