Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Haven't started my knitting yet today, I decided to do another edit of a fic I wrote a few years ago, which took longer than planned. Still not satisfied with the ending but I improved several other bits. I'll get on with my knitting shortly.

Isn't it annoying when a fic takes a direction you haven't intended? I've got several ungodly long WIPs that suffer from the same malady.

This one's not terribly long, less than 4k, but the ending needs more work, it's a bit abrupt. I have tightened up a few bits where the tenses were slightly off and some wording was misleading though.

I have several fics that went off in unexpected directions though, still figuring those out. In all I worked on 6 different fics in 2 fandoms today, all things I'm trying to get ready for posting but I still think could be better, and they're some of the ones that are closest to being ready. Others are still a long way from being done. I'll get there eventually.

I wish I could write *short* stories, you know. That way I might get my writing mojo back, eventually (still traumatised due to the AO3 issue).

I write mostly short stories because the longer they get the more time I spend re-reading to make sure I know what I already wrote and don't contradict myself. I have a terrible memory for some things.

It's just a bit abrupt, I think I might add a bit more dialogue. Of course, since it's a fic I'm overall really pleased with, probably no one will read it. The ones I'm proudest of usually get ignored while the ones I think are passable get lots of hits and kudos *sigh* I got over 400 hits on a double drabble I wrote for a pairing I don't even ship, and I'm still getting kudos on it months later.

I finished several things this last week and now they're sitting on my kitchen table staring at me, waiting for the ironing/hooping/backing to happen. There's just so many moving pieces, it stresses me out a little.

I also picked up the fabric for my big solar system project today! I feel like it's really happening now!

Did some stitch and stream today. I added another 18 rows to the scarf and watched some short animated films and the Americanized version of the original Godzilla.

They can be hard to find, but definitely worth it. I'm lucky Svengoolie gets to show them as often as it does. (He does?)

If you get the chance, watch the original Godzilla and the Americanized version of the original Godzilla close -ish together. They are truly different viewing experiences.

Yay, Godzilla! I love the old Japanese films where the monsters are so obviously just guys in rubber suits. They have a unique charm.
