Getting the heating going when I did was absolutely the right thing to do, but now the weather's turned a bit milder again (not by much, I'd still be freezing without the heating) it's so warm indoors it's making me sleepy. I can't win at this time of year.


Anyway, I have successfully attached brooch backs to 10 meeces! It's a bit fiddly, but it seems to be working. I decided to attach them lengthwise, down the seam underneath.

Only the first 10. I have another 45, but not enough brooch backs for all of them.

There might be 4 left over anyway, I think I might have 51 brooch backs instead of 50! I need to order more anyway, so I can make sure I have some for next year.

Sounds like you are off to a good start with the brooch back. Ah heating and feeling sleepy in a nice way - I did turn my little electric stove on in the lounge the other day for an hour and did enjoy it. I left just the flames on for a while and that's really relaxing.

It's that time of year when heat is needed some of the time but not all of the time. Unfortunately, with my heating running off a coal fire I can't just turn it on and off, takes forever to re-light it if I let it out, so once it's lit it usually stays that way until spring, and I roast on mild days. Better than freezing though.
