Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've been so busy. In the last week I've sewn another 8 roses on the medieval curtains, started a wool hood (because I need something easy to take my brain away from how slow and fiddly other things are and I like results!) and started sewing the Polish kontusz together (which I cat out a while back.) It's a huge job and I'm up to the hand stitching which is hurting my hands pushing the needle through the many layers of stiff fabric, but it's looking really great. I'll be doing some blog posts and adding pics this morning so I can share them here.

You always have such enormous - not to mention classy - projects!

It's exhausting but it's so nice to see results!

Insanely ridiculous, I think you mean. The kontusz is part payment for a trailer I paid some money for and promised do the sewing for free and supply the silk lining, and I've been a bit guilty I haven't made it sooner. I really should be doing to roses and nothing else, but I know it will be needed by July, so I need to do it.

sounds like you're doing really well. I hope your hands recover quickly

That's the main reason I start little side projects. Easy things are quick and keep me motivated to keep going on the bigger projects.

The lack of strength in the thumbs is making sewing hard, but I'm using a pair of pliers to pull it through :)

My thought exactly, and that's what I've been doing, but it's so slow using them for every single stitch. It's going to take such a long time. The roses are taking forever as well, but at least they look nice!
