Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Another 5 meeces completed.

Only 20 arm warmer rows tonight though. I just wasn't in the mood for arm warmer knitting. Single rib and no shaping can get very boring.

I was watching Call The Midwife, and it's just as well I was doing basic straight knit one row purl one row!

I made a touch more progress on the bib I'm working on. I had planned to attend a stitchalong, which would have helped a lot, but ended up not having the energy for it. Poor sad li'l bib. :)

Energy can be in short supply at times. The poor little bib will get finished eventually. You're making progress, even if it's less than you'd hoped for.

Hello! I'm brand new both to here and to knitting. I'm working on a scarf as my first project, just plain garter stitch, but I'm nearly done. Not sure exactly how many rows more I'm going to do because I'm just kind of winging it but I have an actual pattern for my next project so I can act like I know what I'm talking about then 😅

Welcome! A scarf is a great project to start with, and you can drape it round yourself to see whether it's the right length.

Welcome! Congratulations on learning to knit and almost being finished with your first project. You can wear your new scarf proudly and tell everyone you made it yourself!

I've been so busy. In the last week I've sewn another 8 roses on the medieval curtains, started a wool hood (because I need something easy to take my brain away from how slow and fiddly other things are and I like results!) and started sewing the Polish kontusz together (which I cat out a while back.) It's a huge job and I'm up to the hand stitching which is hurting my hands pushing the needle through the many layers of stiff fabric, but it's looking really great. I'll be doing some blog posts and adding pics this morning so I can share them here.

No crafting today, but I did make lots of chicken pie (as in some to eat and lots of extra portions to freeze for later).

Restarting the ribbing of the sweater I'm working on and it's at least neater this time, so at least the practice from attempt #1 was worth something.

Also knocked out one of the sunflower/sunburst granny squares with the colors I had (black, red, mustard, white) which I'm not completely sold on but I'm now toying around with the idea of a more cosmic looking granny square bag.
