Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

They'll be able to hear the cats coming or listen to your pied piper tunes :) Sounds like things are going well.

I've started on my next cross stitch card - not really a card, but a little ornament for hanging on a Christmas tree. It's a little fairy which will have a heart-shaped felt frame. I thought it would be suitable instead of a card for mini Hobbit. At the moment all I've stitched is some of the blue surround.

And I won a prize on an online giveaway - some red aida and a little booklet of Christmas cross stitch patterns. The red is lovely and I shall enjoy using it.

Thank you - I thought she might prefer it to a standard card.

Yes, so many possibilities...

I've chopped some more nuts, candied fruit and chocolate for tomorrow's baking frenzy. Otherwise, it was a day filled with household chores.

I think I only need 3 more squares crocheting now. I also spent some more time sewing up - I now have 3 sets of four combined squares - eventually I should have eight sets of four and 1 strip of eight. I like to think that making small squares into bigger squares/rectangles helps make the sewing up easier and more manageable. I'm starting to have thoughts about what colours I have enough of for the border(s) - not sure if I'll do one or two colour border - it might depend on how big the blanket looks once I have the main part assembled. I'd like to get to the point where all the squares are made and a good part of the assembling is done before the end of the weekend so that I can figure out which yarns are still available and how much I have of them as I would like to make a couple of small things for gifts that need to be finished earlier than this will be needed.

I'm sure sewing into bigger squares as you go along helps. It certainly makes the final sewing up less of a chore.

Another six rows on the blanket today, broken into two sets of three. I measured it again and it's just about 48". I'm hoping to get at least another 8" done, but more like 12" as nephew is TALL.

Also poked at the crocheted hat. I had a mind to finish it today but eh, I pooped out.

The blanket is growing steadily which is good.
