Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I'm looking forward to see the mice.
Also, congratulations on getting some more craft supplies. You can never have too much of them, and sometimes the oddest things work out marvellously.

It's good that you finally got your first jab. Took them long enough to give it to you!

I'm glad you have your first shot! Fingers crossed for no problems for #2.

I'll have to catch up on everyone's projects. Have been too busy to even lurk recently.

Sounds like a good day! So pleased to hear that you’ve been able to get your jab and crafting supplies just makes it all an extra success. More mice! 🐭

The only activity scheduled for today was to make some more popsicle snowflakes. Guess what haven't I done today? Bingo: popsicle snowflakes!

Instead, I made a felt satchel bag for toddlers, based on this video - only that mine is a grossly simplified version. Or rather mines are - because we've got two 2-year-old girls in the family with only two months age difference or so between them, and they always want to have what the other one has. So I'm about to make two identical bags; hopefully, this way they won't be any fight over them. The first one is completed, the second one is half-done, so I consider this day a success. There will be a picture when both are done.

We'll see. The felt sheet has unicorns with rainbow-coloured manes, dancing among stars and little hearts on a dark purple background - my eyes were bleeding as I worked on it, but toddlers have a different approach to colours, so i hope they'll like it.

That looks neat! And yes you needed the two. :D

Definitely. We don't want to have any screeching and hair-pulling over *one* bag. ;)

Cool bag! I bet both girls will love them.

Let's hope so.

New house stuff has been eating my life. However, we are kind of getting to where all of the outside workers (plumbers, electric, etc) are all done for this stage. Which is good because we can do things at our own pace, not "I have to get all these things done in prep for the plumber."

Also, I think having zero crafting time/brain space is beginning to make me lose my mind. I made myself a witch hat for Halloween, and then only had 6 trick or treaters!

Oh, and the exciting bit that is NEARLY done is my new, main floor laundry room. In a little back door area that my grandparents would have called a "mudroom." I am not so great with stairs anymore, so the laundry being on the main floor saves me a lot of energy and frustration.

There's a neighborhood just a couple blocks away that is "ritzier" and most of their houses decorate and really make a thing of Halloween. I'm sure they all went there.

Met neighbor across the street though. He's new too, and came over to commiserate. "there's tons of kids on this street! Where are they! I bought a bunch of candy!" Ha! He was wearing a Batman cape.

That’s a great witch’s hat! Sounds like you’ve had your hands full with all the house projects, hopefully things will calm down and you’ll have time and energy for your crafting projects.

The hat was still worth it. It looks very cool.
Welcome back, BTW!

One square done so far tonight, just starting on a second.

It seems that you're on the roll. Go you!

Another two rows on the blanket. I was *tired* today. I went to bed fairly early for me last night, but then ended up napping this afternoon. I had meant to get an early start on the blanket this morning, but I had to go to the gym with mom (for some reason I had thought that last night she said we weren't going, but turns out we were). So between the unexpected gym visit and the afternoon nap, my plans were ruined.

I'd feel more guilty about the slow progress if I hadn't gotten a reprieve tonight: original plan was to finish by November 18th as the next expansion of my MMO was supposed to drop on the 19th, but tonight we found out it's been delayed two weeks. That gives me more time to work on the blanket. I still want it done before US Thanksgiving, and really it should be done at least two days before that so it can be washed (it's acrylic so can go in the washer/dryer).

Tomorrow I plan on getting up at a decently early time and putting some work in on it before lunch. That should help immensely.

Well done on what you did manage to do even if it was less than you hoped. Hopefully you felt better for the nap and the early night, sometimes that's just what our bodies need.

Good luck with your weekend progress.

It's no use to push yourself when you're exhausted. Crafting is supposed to be enjoyable, not a burden. Tomorrow is another day.
