Check-In Post December 9th 2020

Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: There's so much waste these days, so do you have any crafty ideas on how to recycle things that otherwise might get thrown away?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Of course you dropped the needle. You were getting done.

Die cutting sounds fun.

Oh yes. I used a die cutter to make my mom's bulletin boards at school as a kid.

Which I'm now realizing is WEIRD. Half the time I wasn't allowed to use a paring knife. Why was I using a huge machete paper cutter and a die cut machine? Adults, bonkers.

I have a bunch of fabric saved up I need to mess with. Cruddy t-shirts to turn into rag rugs or something.

I'm not going to get done with MIL headband #2 tonight, but hopefully tomorrow. Some photos: MIL headbands

Missing needles! I've lost 2. I haven't found them yet. Ugh.

I am not good with recycling but I try to remember that all parts of a package (the box, the bubble wrap, etc) are fun for the boys (toilet paper and paper towel rolls, too) and keep things for them to destroy.

I planned my last two cross stitch squares but haven't actually started yet. Wednesday is shopping day so I was toodling hither and thither and dealing with the World Outside.

I don't even go out, but it seems like dealing with the groceries husband and brother bring back to the house takes longer and more energy than necessary.

Oh, yes. Getting everything home (well, almost everything, I always forget at least one thing on my list. Or I forget the list!) is only have the battle. Putting everything up is another battle. The only part I don't do is carrying everything from the car to the flat. My sons' father and my sons do that. When everything is done, the only thing I feel like doing is jigsaw puzzle. Even a few minutes seems to wipe the brain free of all the grime and dust of the world.
