Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I’m sure it will get easier as you get back into the swing of mouse making.

Poor skinny mouse!

Knitted meeces are the cutest! Felt ears to come? :)

Isn't it odd how you run into problems when trying to make something you've done uncounted times... just not very recently? Muscle memory definitely needs a boost in such cases.

I've finished all 12 sparkly paper stars... well, if I say "finished". The basic star shapes are done, now all I need to do is decoration. And hanging. Tomorrow I'll try to find sparkly pom-poms in the craft shops, as my non-sparkly ones won't look nice in the middle of the stars. I've tried, but it just doesn't work. Also, I decided to hang them on yarn the same colour as the individual pom-poms.

I'm hoping to find Silber-white ones, in which case the yarn won't be a problem. *fingers crossed*

And I meant silver, of course. Dratted autocorrect!

I got sparkly pom-poms in white, pale purple and light blue. They make a nice and frosty impression... if they manage to actually stay on the stars. ;)

Sounds like you’re doing really well with your stars.

I'm glad to have them out of my hair, TBH. After the fifth one I was getting deadly bored by the repetition. But I am nothing if not stubborn.

That's great to have the star shapes finished.

It is s relief. Finicly mechanic work isn't my forte.

ooo that sounds really nice!

It is, although after making 12 of them I don't want to do it again... not until next year, at the very lest.

Still working on the tapestry - I’m trying to stay awake long enough to finish tonight (it’s just past midnight but I’m not at work tomorrow).

Spent some time this morning looking at crochet patterns too.

You must be very close to finishing then! *cheers you on!*

Good luck with finishing the tapestry!

Five rows on the blanket, my goal for today! Huzzah! And this on a gym-in-the-morning, streaming-at-night day. Somehow I managed to sneak in enough knitting time to get it done. I estimate I have 96 rows left to reach 56".

I also planned out my Nerdopolis projects for the month, printing out two patterns, and then messed around with some crochet, doing about 15 minutes on a hat and 20 minutes on a shawl.

My goodness, you are hammering it! So much on the go and making great headway!

You are multitasking with alacrity! *g*

Finally finished making my silk pouch which I stared a few days ago! My friend Ally made the embroidery with silk and gold thread and I turned the entire things into a silk pouch lined with linen. Super pleased with it and I'll be doing a long LJ post in a few days with all the progress photos.

I am super duper in love with it. It's based on some French ones in museums. It's been killing me looking at the embroidery for a few months now not doing anything, but I had a few days off work to be extra busy in and I thought why the hell not make it into a pouch, so I really did almost nothing else that whole time. Worth it though! :)
Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021 07:19 pm (UTC)
Oh, this is stunningly beautiful!
Tuesday, November 9th, 2021 01:15 pm (UTC)
Thank you! It's come together really well!

Other sewing things- finally put the sleeves on my wool gowne and it's totally finished, washed the linen gowne so it's ready for buttons on the forearms and have finally figured out what to do with a blue silk kirtle which I couldn't get my arms into arymore before I'd even finished sewing it. I'll talk about that later. Getting late and another early shift tomorrow.

Just got to edit an article for the museum first... and reply to fb comments on the pouch which is getting some love! :) It's so shiny!!!!

sleep is for people who don't craft!

Theoretically, you're right. Practically, it's been my experience that after a certain age one simply *has* to sleep. :(
