Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Halloween preparations have moved forward a little. I've put some little knitted mice into freezer bags. I'm trying to make it so kids can rummage but everything will remain uncontaminated by germs. Also put pendants into ziplock bags. The bouncy spiders are off the table because I've only got nine. I'll have to make some more for next year. Still, with pendants, mini mice, bookmarks, and Googly Bugs, there should be something for everyone.

Tomorrow I have to sort and bag the candy and make some signage. Now if only the weather would be nice.

I don't have the necessary cultural background to get behind this Halloween stuff - the whole thing has begun to infiltrate the rock under which I live but a few years ago - but I'm amazed by your multitude of ideas. Knitted mice sound like fun, too. :)

I love Halloween, although my parents were completely against it when I was a kid, and even when I grew up, so I've only been able to celebrate it for the last ten or so years.

Thanks! Most of the things I've handed out in recent years were made a long time ago. The knitted mice are easy to make and good for using up oddments of yarn. I'll probably make some more soon. I crochet the ears because they turn out better that way.

I think that can be avoided.

So much to do and so little time... Now I'm just hoping the weather won't be as bad as is forecast. Heavy rain on Halloween is just not fair =(

Today I gave these pretty paper stars another try. My first attempt didn't end up too well because the paper I used was too thick and too hard. Now I recycled the sparkly silver wrapping paper in which Evie brought me her present yesterday. This time the star turned out better, but I still couldn't insert the sixth point. No idea why. It seems I have to accept that my stars will be five-pointed. Things can be really strange sometimes.

Sometimes that's the way it goes when making things other people have designed. At least your five pointed stars will still be pretty.

True, I just can't understand why I am unable to fit in the sixth part. I do every step following the vid religiously, and still end up with a different result.

The paper sounds ideal, and whether five or six points I'm sure your stars are splendid!

They are pretty enough, it just frustrates the living daylight out of me that I can't make them what they are supposed to be.
