Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Advanced angels

Am I first? Go figure!

Anyway, I've tried painting the lolly sticks with acrylic paint, and these are the results:



I might have overdone the sparkling a bit but am still content with the results. The wings of the middle one are actually individual "feathers" - they were part of a gift box-making kit and I've completely forgotten about them until finding them today by accident, while looking for pink paper for the angel's back. *g*

They're lovely! I especially like the pink angel. Those feathers make wonderful wings! It's a shame you don't have more of them.

Yeah, it's annoying. But I guess one doesn't need an even number of decoration stuff when making gift boxes. Unlike when making angels. ;)

True, an angel with only one wing wouldn't be able to fly. If you've got a spare one though, you could use it as a template to make more.

Theoretically, I could. But I doubt I'd find the right paper for them. Not colour-wise, that would be doable, but they'd never be patterned so feather-like, I'm afraid.

I had the right number of rows on the arm warmer so that's cast off and I've redone the cast-off on the other one. They just need sewing up now.

I've also started unravelling the sweater I was working on at the start of the year. I've got very thin arms, but honestly I would have had trouble getting my arm down the ridiculously narrow sleeve and there's no way my head would have fitted through the neck. So, I've unravelled the unfinished sleeve, still got to do the completed sleeve and the front. I gave up on it before starting the back.

I might be able to leave the ribbing for the front intact. Not certain but I have a feeling there's a similar number of stitches on the pattern I'm going to use the yarn for instead.

Gah, that sounds like a lot of work! Hopefully, you'll be able to save at least some of it. *fingers crossed*

Doesn't really matter if I can't, I'll just start again from scratch. I like the new pattern better than the one I was using. Just hope there'll be enough yarn for it. I'll probably start with the sleeves.

Well done on reaching the end of the knitting on the arm warmers, not much further to go.

You seem very positive about the unravelling and starting over with the new pattern so I won't sympathise too much and just send you good wishes for the new project.

Thanks! I won't be finishing them this weekend though, can't sew up while watching Strictly Come Dancing!

I really should have abandoned it before starting the sleeves, but foolishly I continued. I think starting over is the best option rather than ending up with a sweater I can't wear.

Yes, I was pleased by that! I was more worried that I might have done too many rather than too few, because then I would have been faced with the choice of either undoing rows or adding more to the finished one o_O

Thanks! I picked a much better pattern this time, although once again I'll be wondering if I have enough yarn...

I did a bit of tapestry before falling asleep - unfortunately that meant when I woke up there was a mad hunt for the lost needle - as well as sore neck and various other bits of me that were not in a good sleeping position. By the time I found the needle I was really awake but I didn't want to leave it missing and risk an injury when I did find it! (as in stepping on it/sitting on it or similar).

Well, at least you got a bit done. Sorry dozing off in an awkward position left you hurting though.

I agree entirely. I've lost needles before through dropping them and I can't rest until I've found them again. Too dangerous to leave lying around.

I finished the skirt of the knitted dress and moved on to one sleeve. It's almost done, and then I have to sew it up and then finish the other sleeve, sew on a button, and the whole dress is done! Whether it'll fit my kiddo is another story entirely. Watched a whole episode of a K-drama while I was working, so that was nice.
