Check-In Post September 4th 2021

Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

It's been good weather for gardening (at least it has down our way). 12 rows is good - that's one pattern repeat, isn't it?

The first pair of oven mitts is almost done; only one row of blanket stitches left. I've also pinned together the parts of the second pair, during which I realized that I need to cut out three more pieces of lining - somehow I miscalculated at the beginning. Ah, well, I still have some material left.

Having excess material is important if one can't count properly. *g*

Looks great and the tassels really round it off.

Making as much inroads on my baby cross stitch as I can while I have the energy (though been feeling flat overall for the past fortnight - 8 weeks in strict lockdown again now and no signs it will lift for several more at best). Anything to not have to look at the same four walls.

I like my own company too but what is it now, 200+ days in the last 18 months we've been locked down, plus all the working from home in between. Even I struggle with that. Plus I have reasons to want to leave the house now. It's just damn frustrating, even with lots of craft projects (more if I could get my new house in order).

Finished all the stitching on the Mickey Mouse cross-stitch so there is just the rest of the outlining and lettering/detailing left to do. That's probably about a third done.

Got all the threads organised for my next project and started a bit of the stitching on that - I've decided that now I've just got outlining to do, I'll do a bit of both for variety. Part of me is wondering whether to continue that once Mickey has finished in the next few days as still have two unfinished projects. I'll make a decision at some point, no rush to do so - but I figure that just finishing all the mostly done projects is giving me the wrong impression about how long it's taking me, so it's good to go back to the start for something for now.
