Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I have a writing challenge with a very tight deadline, so I only had time for 12 rows tonight. I need to get back to editing...

Hey, writing is a creative effort as well, and some variety in life is also a good thing. ;)

This is true, but I write every day anyway, just don't usually have quite such a rush to get something finished.

It's a complete pattern repeat, so I've done 6 of those so far, which is pretty good.

Well done on getting any knitting done (and that was a good amount) when you have a tight deadline for the writing. Hope it's something you're enjoying working on.

I very much enjoyed the writing, ended up at 2.8k in just two days, so it's ready to post on the 1st of the month and I can get back to concentrating on my regular challenges.

Thanks, I was determined to get some knitting done.

Thanks! Sometimes I don't either, but the knitting and writing keep me going and the sleep refuels me to do more of both *grins*

I was almost crafty today. While clearing out the wardrobe I found a red and white striped terrycloth t-shirt that I'd outgrown (sidewise) a few decades ago and decided to make oven mittens from it that would go with the children's cookbook I made for Theo. So today I cut the thing in pieces, made the templates, cut out the different parts from both the fabric and the lining material and pinned them together. That way, I can work on them a bit whenever I find a little time.

Excellent, all the preparations are done so that just leaves the sewing!

Unless it ends up in the craft cupboard like all the prepared sticks for the popsickle project (not that I wouldn't be planning to do something about those, too, soon-ish...)

You'll get to everything when you have the time, space, and energy to do so. Right now getting everything straight fo9llowing the renovations is quite naturally taking precedence.

My second stitched coaster is finished, as has the eighth square of my throw. And because I like to keep things complicated, I've decided the next square will have several different shades of colour. No pics, but I'll be doing a full craft post tomorrow, which I'll post a link to.

I've just finished the writing the post, and was surprised at how much I've done this month!

More work on the cave wall, finished the main colour of Mickey's hat and his other ear which sticks out of the hat.

Settled into the new job and one of my new coworkers bought me a cross stitch kit (because he knows I have to buy a lot of things for the new apartment in September >.<) and...even though I have other kits ...I started the new one! I definitely love the border on it so I can't wait to finish it and reuse the border pattern for something else.

I've been busy with the rocking horse restoration and the disastrous paint job which I've repainted twice now. The little leather saddle is looking great and I'll be doing some posts with photos on LJ and posting links here with more photos. The paint is nice but I just can't get the dapples right, and I want to put the clear top coat on but obviously, dapples go under that. It's pretty without.. but the heart wants what the heart wants lol.

So excited, and looking forward to seeing the progress you've been making. Hopefully you'll figure out how to get the dapples the way you want them. Do you have a name for the rocking horse yet?

The naming shall be done by a 3 year old grandbabe, so quite frankly, it could be almost anything. He has a fish called "Dingo."
