Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

It's finished! The side seams are sewn up and all the odd ends finished off. Woohoo! Took me 34 days for this one.

I've also done the first 10 rib rows on the dark red sweater, so I'm up and running again!

There will be when I can get my camera to cooperate long enough to take them. It was too dark out by the time I finished sewing the turquoise one up to even try, artificial like is never good for any kind of craft photography. Tomorrow is set to be busy but I might still try. It's all dependent on the camera and its batteries though.

Thank you! Not quite as fast as the fuchsia one, but still a very respectable amount of time.

I started the rib this morning while reading the entries at fandomweekly. I've done that several times with the ribbing on the previous sweater, making the best possible use of my time. *grins*

Yeah, the problem will be getting the camera to behave long enough. I never got good shots of the fuchsia one either, but that colour is really hard to photograph. I'll have to try again.

Yesterday the cross stitch kit I'd bought arrived with lots of cards etc to make for Christmas - I know, it's early, but it will take me time to make things and anyway it's lovely just looking at all the threads and ribbons etc.

Then today the wool for granddaughter's cardigan arrived and I have knitted the first 8 rows of rib in pink wool.

Exciting. Mention of that particular time of the year is a little daunting as there are a number of things I hope to get done beforehand and I think I’ve left it too late to do them all, so IMHO it’s not too early to start at all. Plus ribbon and thread what’s not to enjoy?

I want to finish stitching a coaster before I start with the pack, so it's at the lovely 'all the possibilities' stage.

Yes, making anything for Christmas requires an early start, that's why cross stitch magazines always publish the seasonal charts well in advance. Hope you have fun with all your knitting and stitching!

You can't start early enough for Christmas. I'm already in serious delay, myself, but this building insulation business overthrew all my carefully-laid plans. *sigh*

I haven't had time or inspiration to do much crafting, but my older boy did this safari tree house diorama by himself.

Thank you! When I see kits and the like I think are interesting, I stock up for those 'Mom, I'm bored' moments. And this was one of those where he took me up on the suggestion and went with it!

It was getting late by the time I started this evening so I just worked on some of the outline of the broom on the furthest right - although there were a few ‘need to concentrate’ bits, it was not so much as the choices of areas of actual cross stitch that are next as they involve lots of counting for shaping, so it seemed like the right choice of what to work on tonight.

At least you still found time to do a bit.

Always best to avoid anything too complicated when it's late. It's just too disheartening to find out later you made a mistake.

No crafting today, but Mum was digging out some old craft magazines because I'd said I want to make my own cushions rather than pay upwards of $40 each for things I could easily make myself and be able to choose my own fabrics.
In amongst what she found were some fabulously vintage pattern books I had to share. One from 1967 that Mum has had since she was 12!

Heeee! Awesome! I have some similar patterns to the hat and scarves one, and nylon ribboncraft is... Well, nylon is very hardwearing, but I'm dubious about using it for tea cosies... Looks like it works very well for little clutch bags though.

That's true. I did find another pattern book that had the design for our current tea cosy but it's is made from wool.

Being beholden to a limited colour and pattern scheme is not for me. Mine will probably be double sided so you can flip them for a different look. Need all the furniture first though before picking fabrics!
