Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Shoulder seam sewn up, and 9 rib rows done on the neckband. Still more to do though, as I want the neckband on this one to be folded over. It gives a softer finish, which suits the pattern and yarn. Just hope it sits right when it's done. There's always a certain amount of guesswork involved with neckbands.

I found more patterns to look through! Until maybe three years ago, most of my yarn and patterns were in storage, and I misplaced some when I brought everything home. This morning I discovered three ring binders full of patterns taken out of my mum's weekly women's magazines from many years ago (mostly the 80s and 90s, but some from as far back as the 60s. When mum decided to throw the magazines out, I rescued all the knitting patterns, regardless of what they were. They're all good for ideas and inspiration. So I spent a happy time browsing them. There are some great designs, and some that are awful, but interesting to see what used to be fashionable.

It's quite funny to see some of the patterns and wonder what anyone ever saw in them!

I'd like top finish the neck tomorrow, including sewing up the second shoulder and neckband seam and slip-stitching it into place, but I'm still under the weather and struggling a bit.

It is. 70s knitted leisure suits... Knitted bathing costumes... The mind boggles!

The final stages... I don't particularly enjoy sewing up, but it has to be done.

There will hopefully be pictures eventually, but I'm having camera issues. I still haven't posted pictures of the fuchsia sweater because I haven't been able to get a decent shot of it. Part of that is the colour - reds and dark pinks seem to be hard to photograph clearly - and part is my little camera since the rechargeable battery doesn't last these days, and it's not a kind that's easy to replace since it's specific to the camera.

Some of those patterns will be really trendy again. Cable knits are making a comeback. Agree though that looking through some of those old Patons catalogues makes you shake your head at what was considered fashionable. ;)

I think some already have. and I've always loved cables although some of the cable patterns I've seen are just hideous.

tastes change, and yet even though I was a teen in the seventies and wore some of those things, it's hard to imagine what anyone saw in them...

I finished the seventh square for my throw tonight. It's not as elaborate as the others, and somewhere still went wrong.

I was distracted and by the time I got started I managed to do Mickey's face but was too tired to do anything more. Not to worry, hopefully I'll make up for it either tomorrow or at the weekend.

I did two rows of the blanket today!

I'll be away from home for a few days, watching my sister's dog, which means I will also be away from my PS4 so can't play my MMO. I intend to do much crafting while away.
