Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Feeling a bit under the weather today so I didn't get out in the garden clearing ivy. Instead I sorted through some more patterns, found several designs I really like though I'm not sure they're right for the dark red yarn. I also discovered five 100g balls of bright red yarn that's a wool blend, and I have no idea where it came from. I don't remember ever seeing it before. I think my yarn stash has started to breed =/

Also managed to get my daily 20 rows done.That's the third pattern repeat completed. One more and I'll be up to the neck shaping. Yay!

I do like the idea of a yarn stash breeding - it conjures so many wonderful ideas. (And with Amnesty next round on Fan Flashworks...)

Hooray for the third pattern repeat. I misread your last sentence, and thought you were up to your neck in it (clearly the stash is breeding fast!)

I'm not sure I do - I already have more than enough yarn without it multiplying, although it could result in interesting blends.

Planning what to do for Amnesty already?

Hope you feel better and probably wise not to start clearing ivy if you're not feeling brillliant.

I'm curious to hear what you finally decide on for the dark red yarn and worrying to hear that the yarn can breed!

Thanks, I plan to take things easy until I feel better. The garden isn't going anywhere.

So am I! *grins* Still looking at patterns, trying to make up my mind.

It's a scary thought! Thing is, all the yarn was in storage until about three years ago, then I got it all back to the house, donated what I didn't want, and put the rest on the shelves my friend constructed for me in the box room. In theory, I should know what's there, since I sorted it all, but I just don't remember this bagful at all. 5 brand new balls... It's so weird. Everything else, I might have forgotten I had it, but I remember it when I see it...

That is entirely possible. According to Torchwood, there is such thing as intelligent fabric, and it has to come from *somewhere*, right? ;)

I've knitted 22cm (8.5 in) of granddaughter's scarf - which sounds impressive, but obviously it's not very wide!

How many stitches per row? Just out of curiosity...

I'm doing 20 stitches per row which works well for double rib and 5mm needles. She'll be almost 5 so I don't want it too wide.
