Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.


Today's Question: Where do you do most of your crafting? Do you have a craft room or table or just relax on your sofa?

I have a small desk in my bedroom that I use for everything. I'm supposed to be turning the box room into a craft room, but progress stalled this year because I can't do the heavy work by myself.

Both of my second pair of arm warmers are at 96 rows now. They're not going to be as long as the first pair because I don't have much of this yarn left, but there will hopefully be enough for maybe another 10 rows. This pair is shocking pink; the first pair are a sort of dusky rose pink. Next will be a shorter blue pair.

Ah, would that we had such a thing! Mom would have a great time organizing her card stuff. For her, the "craft room" is our table. For me, I pretty much sit here on the couch.

Just finished the outside decorating. We have some leftover garlands that I'm gonna put in the back tomorrow.

Tables are multi-purpose and couches are comfy. Who needs a craft room? *grins*

I mostly sit in the living room recliner or in bed to craft. Sometimes I have a separate project for both, but mostly I just take my project bag back and forth.

Making what seems like zero progress on the headband but probably isn't that bad.

It's good to be comfy when crafting. It should be relaxing. Plus knitting and crochet can be done anywhere.

Sometimes things don't seem to be growing at all when they really are. You'll get there!

I usually do things at the table because there's more space and light. Occasionally, I can get away with cross stitching or making the paper buildings in bed but that usually leads to loosing needles or dripping glue where I sleep and I often regret it. I do have project bags, boxes, and containers. The last follow me around when I'm actively working on something. Light for me is the real issue, and this apartment is dim and my boys are still young enough to destroy any kind of lamp.

I finished two sets of three [still from Shitpost Sampler tumblr's Stitchtober 20 x 20 squares. This is going in a Christmas card for a holiday card exchange.]

Good light is essential for crafting, and some crafts really do require a flat surface and room to spread out. Hopefully once your boys are older you can get yourself a good lamp.

The last thing you ned are sharp needles and sticky patches in your bed!

Thanks! They're so easy and so comfy I don't know why I never thought of doing something like this before! I've been digging through my yarn stash for anything that looks like there'll be enough to make a pair. Hope to get the second pair finished tonight then make some shorter ones
