Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Got another 22 rows done on the second sleeve, that's the first pattern repeat completed, but I messed up, looked at the wrong row on the chart, and had to unpick two rows. Ah well, no harm done. I'm on track again.

Getting the first repeat done is good - it should mean you've got the pattern centred as well.

Yes, but I fumble at the start of each right-side row because with the increases I never know where I am *grins*

From here on I only have to do rows 3 to 42.

Thanks! I would have liked to get more done tonight, but with this pattern I'm finding it difficult to knit while watching TV, I have to count stitches and TV is distracting. But there was something I wanted to watch tonight, so my knitting time ended up being cut short.

Yeah, it was okay, I enjoyed it, and I'm not in that much of a mad rush with the knitting.

Later this week we're due more rain which will mean no gardening and perhaps more knitting time.

No crafting today - too many chores - but I have finished the first actual page of the baby book. Pictures can be viewed in my personal journal, as I don't know how to insert them here using an iPad.

Shame about the chores taking up the crafting time, but at least the one thing we can be sure of is that the crafting will be waiting for us when we get back to it!

And yes, life does have a bad habit of getting in the way of the more enjoyable pastimes. There are never enough hours in the day, or enough energy, to do everything.

I got three clouds, a shooting star and the outline of Wendy and Tinkerbell done - all that's left is the outline of the buildings, the clock face and mouths on the characters, and a few random small stars. Unfortunately I have run out of black thread for the clock face - will have to try and find another kit with extra black thread in - trying to think where I put the remnants of one of the old kits that I'd done.

Fantastic progress! So annoying to run out of thread though. I hope you can scrounge enough from somewhere else to finish your design.

I'm in the minority in that I enjoy doing backstitch, seeing it bring a design to life. I can't imagine that black against the dark aida is easy to stitch.

Under normal circumstances I'm with you I love doing the outlining - both because of the way it lifts the design and as you say brings it to life and because it's so often a sign of being almost complete and a growing feeling of accomplishment.

Obviously I'm somewhat less enthusiastic this time because while in parts the design is getting that finished feel, at times I feel like I'm outlining part and it's not doing anything to the design. I'm hanging on to the 'almost finished and then I can work on something else' feeling though.
