Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Decided to knit the other sleeve before I return to the body of the sweater, so I've done the ribbed cuff and the first 20 rows. Too tired to do any more, but that'll do for today.

How is it August, indeed? Oh gods, that means my birthday is next month!

I made my monthly crafting update post in my journal. It includes a picture of my Rosenmalva top, which sadly I am going to have to rip out entirely and redo because it's coming out far too big. I was about right on gauge for the single crochet hem, but massively off on the V-stitch -- you're supposed to have 17 dc in 4" and I'm getting 14. I am not sure what to do now. I do have a smaller hook, somewhere, that I can try, but gods know where the hook is. I've already restarted this three times (I thought my gauge was too small at first!) and I'm tired and not wanting to restart it again right now, so if I do any more crafting today it'll be on some kerchiefs I have plans to do.

That's sop heartbreaking after all your hard work. I hope you can figure out how to get a suitable tension so you can finish your lovely top.

You have my sympathies with the gauge just not working. It's so demoralising.

All the characters are now sewn completely - outlines etc still to be completed on two of them but three are done. If I can keep this up, it won't take me quite as long as I thought - I'm left with three clouds and a shooting star to sew and then character outlines for two characters and the building outlines (plus a few odd stars and the markers on the clock face).

You're making really great progress, and the design sounds lovely. Too bad the dark aida is making it such a pain to stitch.
