Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Grrr, I've fallen out with my knitting!

I miscalculated yesterday, only knitted 28 rows. Today I took a look and realised I'd totally messed up one bit. I knew I'd made a mistake and tried to fudge it yesterday, but it was right in the middle of the sleeve and it looked like the work of a drunken spider. So I had to unpick and re-do 7 rows, then added another 12 to the end of the third pattern repeat.

At least the drunken spider has sobered up; now the pattern looks the way it's supposed to. But I still need at least another 20 rows on this sleeve, probably a bit more than that. Ah well, disaster averted.

That is just plain annoying. Yes, you'd never have been happy with the work of a drunken spider in the middle of the sleeve - had it been right next to the edge it would have been okay. I know there's a mistake in the current square of my throw, but it won't show up and no-one will see it but me - or technically my husband, but he won't notice it.

Exactly! On or near the seam it would have ben hidden. but in the middle near the top of the sleeve >.< It was too glaringly obvious, and I still have no clue what went wrong, just that whatever happened I've fixed it. I guess that's what matters.

I'm too engrossed in my stitching to do any knitting, which is annoying - I need more time in my day - I'm retired, this shouldn't be happening ;)

Everything expands to take up the available time, I think it's some kind of unwritten law. Still, if you're enjoying the stitching the knitting will still be there when you feel like a change of pace.

I've been steadily working on stuff this week, which is good! though I haven't been working as hard as I did the last two Olympics. I have mixed feelings about that. On the one hand, I've been enjoying how I've been choosing to spend my time. On the other, I did have some goals I wanted to meet, and I'm not likely to meet them so that's a bit disappointing.

Have some totals from earlier this week:

Sunday: two rows on the top, seven on the blanket
Monday: two rows on the top, nothing on the blanket apparently according to my notes
Tuesday: One row on the top, five rows on the blanket
Wednesday: Two rows on the top, five rows on the blanket
Thursday: about four rows on the top, I think?
Friday: five rows on the top

I'm going to focus on the top going forward for the rest of the Olympics, because I *think* I can get it done by closing ceremonies if I work hard on it. I'm at 17 rows of the body stitch, which is halfway to the V-neck split. Tomorrow I'm hoping to do at least nine rows. Since I'm not going anywhere in the morning, this should be possibly if I get an early start (I stream tomorrow night).

Mom has taken to asking if the blanket will be done by Christmas. -.- I'm hoping to finish it much earlier than that, but yeeeeeeeeeeeeah it might turn out to be a Christmas present. Let's hope not!

As long as you're enjoying what you're doing. Sometimes we set ourselves goals that end up being too ambitious because trying to achieve them becomes stressful, but it's okay to not achieve self-imposed goals (something I have to tell myself all the time).

I hope you can get the top done by the closing ceremonies though. You seem to be making great progress with it. The blanket will get done, hopefully before Christmas, but if not, I'm sure it will still be welcomed.

It's not cheating, people just check in on whichever post is available. We're in a bunch of different time zones after all.

That's looking really lovely! How many inner pages will you be doing?

Four double-sided pages, that is eight pages altogether, not counting the inside of the covers.
