Check-In Post July 19th 2021

Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Yes, it does feel very heavy and awkward at that point. My mother used to tell me to cast off a neckband with a needle one size bigger than used for the knitting to make it a bit looser.

Wrestling with an octopus sounds like no fun! I've only done top-down raglans so I don't have experience with knitting the neckband last, but doing the sleeves was a pain. I hope the new bind-off works properly!

It's still early in the day so I might do more things, but I just finished knitting two rows on the blanket, which also coincided with the end of the latest soundtrack I was listening to. That was the Final Fantasy XII video game OST, which is 4 hours and 45 minutes long. I've been listening to it in bits and pieces while working on the blanket. Anyway, when I finished the last OST before this one, I was at 19". Now I'm at about 24". Still plenty to go, alas, but getting about an inch an hour doesn't sound TOO bad.

Next OSTs to listen to will be the Final Fantasy XI soundtracks. They are some of my favorites, so I'm hoping it will entice me to work on the blanket in longer stretches. I do enjoy the FFXII OST but its music tends to blur together so I can only stand to listen to a few songs at a time.
