Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Your speed is amazing! How many sweaters have you planned to knit in this time period?

There is nothing wrong with the odd fudge. Good luck with the neckband - that has to be about the hardest part of any knitted jumper.

... since the story is now finished, and I decided not to start another big project for the rest of Picowrimo.

Instead, I've painted a great many popsicle sticks for future use today. Of course, I'll have to paint their other side, once they've completely dried, but at least I've got 72 coloured sticks - 24 of them already painted on both sides. 8 different colours, they look very nice. I still have to find some silver paint, though.

Painting popsicle sticks sounds like a nice simple, peaceful task.

The daughter gave me knitting kits for a Harry Potter hat and scarf last birthday, so since this is the year of knitting hats, I've now started on the hat and knitted the first five rib rows.

This is in typical Gryffindor colours - dark red with two gold stripes.

Started working through a second book on coding games in Python. This one will be boring at first because it assumes you know nothing, and by now I know a bit. But it's a start, and hey, reading the book counts for the library's Summer Reading Challenge.

I finished the first of the shell mitts! Since my crafting competition doesn't require pairs, I'll probably go ahead and turn it in, then finish the second at a more leisurely pace.

A fingerless mitt crocheted in a shell pattern.

Then I played a bunch of my MMO, which doesn't count for here but I am pleased that I FINALLY finished a brutal grinding stage for a relic weapon, and started the final stage. Woohoo!

Now I am taking a break from gaming and will knit on the blanket for a while.

I am...sixty-odd rows into this new baby blanket. It's been an adventure using scrap yarn to make it and trying to coordinate the colors.
