Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

The neck shaping was tedious and fiddly but it is done, the front is finished! Next step will be to sew up three of the raglan seams so I can do the neckband, but that can wait until tomorrow, or later, depending on whether or not I feel like sewing up tomorrow.

I'm tempted to start another project immediately, but I'd probably better get this one finished first if I can.

If you don't finish this one it will hang around for ages, and after all the hassle it's caused you it seems a shame for you not to triumph over it.

Thanks! Felt more like a determined slog to me, but yes, I've gone through this one quickly, mostly because it was so annoying. I just hope it will look halfway decent when it's finished.

Fifth square of my throw completed. This one has a lacy pattern - I went wrong somewhere but couldn't work out where, and since it's only for my bed I fudged it a bit, but it looks okay.

Maybe next time you knit this square you'll figure out what didn't go quite the way it was supposed to.

Thank you. Yes, although probably because I won't do another one for a while I'll have forgotten until it goes wrong again ;) It's perfectly good enough for a blanket on the bed.

That's why I kept going with my sweater - I'd already learned from all my mistakes, and I didn't want to forget how the pattern went again. *grins*

I finally went back to my programming, and have officially finished working through Code This Game! It was not without some errors in it, but I figured out most of them (I have one small one left to debug). I want to tweak the program some more, and then get to work on writing a new game. They give use assets so you can make a Space Invaders clone, and I started writing that the first time I worked through the book so I'll probably get back to that one first.

I started the shell stitch fingerless mitts and made good progress on the first one. It's past the thumb divide.

Also: knit 2-3 rows on the blanket, I forget exactly how many. But I worked on it.

I'm into the closing stages of my Reyna shawl, and am weighing the ball of yarn now that it is obviously shrinking! About 18g left...

Only a little crafting in the last week and a bit. Back at work and plenty going on. All I managed were a few stitches added to a cross stitch I haven't touched in ages. I find it good to do when I want to take my mind off things. A potential house purchase on the horizon which has me very stressed out and finding it hard to concentrate on anything else, but stitching doesn't take much brainpower.

Good that you have something you can do to take your mind of stresses. I've never ben involved in house purchasing myself, but I understand it is one of the bigger life stresses, so anything that helps with that is worth doing

Yeah, this came out of the blue and I'm not mentally ready for it, but it's the place right over the road and if I didn't throw my hat in the ring I'd regret it forever. It's more likely than not to go ahead. Had a long chat with the neighbours selling today and they've given me their reserve price before auction to put in an offer, say they'd prefer to sell to me if someone else put in a similar offer but slightly higher.
Still I hate debt and having a massive loan stresses me out, as does living on my own, even if the family will still be just over the way. The only concession has been this new lockdown meaning open for inspections aren't happening, but yeah, organising finance, liquidating all my savings, finding a conveyancer at the 11th hour, having to spend the next six months working on getting my driver's license... The whole thing makes me feel sick.

It does sound pretty great being right over the road, but yes, I understand the worry about debt and trying to sort things out in a rush.

Sending hugs and supportive vibes. Hope things go the way you want them to with the minimum of hassle.

Good luck! The whole affair sounds a bit intimidating, but if you really want your own place, I'm sure you will manage. *fingers crossed*
