Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I finished the baby blanket, crocheted edging and all. It was much bigger than I expected oops. I am naturally already started on a new one.

Those are great colours for a baby blanket. Babe will be able to continue to use it afterwards into toddlerhood and beyond as the colours won't seem babyish. It looks great!

Thank you so much! I'm usually bad at picking colors so I'm glad this worked out...

This is so lovely! I'm not into anything blue as a rule, but this looks really great - soothing, actually.

Worked through two chapters of Code This Game!

Worked on the fingerless mitt. I finished the thumb gusset, so now have 25 rounds to do for the top of the mitt (it folds over for extra warmth) and the thumb.

Lots and lots of ripping and redoing on the crocheted sun hat, grr. But I think I finally figured out modifications to the pattern to fit me.

So lots done, but it was fairly annoying with all that trial-and-error on the hat.

Hopefully the ripping and redoing will be worth it in the end. Having a pattern that fits you sounds like it'll be good for future hats.

Sounds like an awful lot of work, but at least progress is being made. Go you!

Five more mini cards today. I'm really enjoying the smaller format with less elements required, and being able to use patterned papers in more of a structured, feature image way because I can select such a small square, picking and choosing the colours and bits of the pattern I want. And they're quicker to make now! I just stick to one paper pack and say, this is the colour scheme I'm working with, to save time agonising over coordinating colours.

They sound really sweet!

How big - or rather how small - are these cards?
Tuesday, July 6th, 2021 09:53 pm (UTC)
They're 9cm x 8cm so more gift cards than greeting cards.

I've spent a lot of time tidying and organising and making a pile of things to do which will finish off a bunch of small jobs. Buckles on garters. 2 seams of a wool hood. Taking flowers off a circlet and replaying them with better ones. Lining some sleeves. I've finally managed to get the tidying bit done and though it's getting late, I'm going to make soup, watch a movie and hopefully get some sewing and crafting done in front of it.

Sometimes tidying and organizing is of vital importance. I realize this every time I don't find something I'd been so sure I'd find at a certain place... *g*
