Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I'd hoped to complete the first sleeve today, but I ran out of yarn with 16 rows to go. I still managed 32 rows, another pattern repeat with the rows getting progressively shorter, so I can't complain.

The plan now is to work on the second sleeve until I run out of yarn, then start another ball of yarn to finish both sleeves and use the rest to finish the back. That should leave two balls to make the front and do the neckband.

That sounds like a great plan. And 32 rows is still a great achievement.

Thanks! Yes, especially since trying to keep the pattern accurate while doing the decreases gets a bit tricky in places.

No, thankfully just the ball, but if it takes more than a whole 100g ball for one sleeve.... Good thing I had 6 to start with. I can usually make a sweater for myself from 5 balls.

That was what I thought, too. Running out of yarn is something that regularly happens to me when I'm doing felt work. *g*

It's a nuisance running out of anything in the middle of making something. Thankfully, there should be enough yarn to finish the sweater.

I am. I just want to get this sweater finished and start work on a more enjoyable pattern. *sigh*

I haven't done much actually crafting, but I have found some patterns which I can use for more squares for my throw (which means I won't need to do so many repeats) so that's good.

I haven't been following along here well, but WE BOUGHT A HOUSE! For real this time. Inspections were already done, so there was no weeks of waiting and then negotiating over surprise broken things.

Closing is Wednesday.

I'm slowly working on my entrelac and the snowflakes projects off and on, a lot of times to give me a break from house related tasks. I've certainly sped up my decluttering project.

Working on three things today:

1) The second fingerless mitt for my nephew. I'm at the fun part (the thumb gusset)

2) A crocheted sun hat. I've had to rip and restart two times because it was coming out too big. Hopefully third time's the charm: the pattern calls for DC stitches but I'm using HDC as it's the only way I could get row gauge.

3) Did another chapter of Code This Game!

I have some time before I need to pick up dinner so I will either knit or crochet some more. Then I stream tonight. Hopefully I don't yawn too much during streaming, I'm a bit tired.

What a busy day! You must be knackered after all that.

I'm at the start of Day 2 of medieval streaming, and one of the sessions is craft. I'll be putting together a medieval fake hairpiece, since I know this is something that a lot of ladies struggle with. Later in the day I'll be talking about some of my real medieval brooches, then a talk about corsets (it's not what you thing they are) and finally reading and discussion (including witness statements) of a medieval bedroom trial proving that the husband just couldn't perform. Yes, that was a court case, and I'm going there! I'll post up some links at the end of the day here if anyone is enthused enough to watch any of them.

Time is the thing. There's so much to read and see. The bedroom trial one is funny and the button making is cool if you are looking for new craft ideas.

I have step by step pictures and words on my website for most tutorials as well because a lot of people just like to look at pictures which don't move and do things in their own time.

I crafted this weekend as procrastination against completing my writing challenges, but I've got the week off work so I can make up some on Monday.
Twelve more mini cards but no photos yet. Medievalrosalie inspired me with her buttons tutorial to sew some little ribbon bows using a simple gathering stitch. My sewing skills are pretty rudimentary, but they turned out okay enough so I made about five and used four on cards so my little stockpile is already depleted.
