Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Whew, a couple of hours of knitting and another 32 rows. I'm up to the raglan shaping on the sleeve. I'll probably do the other sleeve once I've finished this one, then go back to working on the back.

Mostly, planning my month's projects today. I did cast on for the second mitt, and got about halfway done on a cozy for my mom (she drinks Manhattans with a lot of ice, and likes to have a cozy on the glass so it doesn't leave sweat marks on the tables.)

Plans:
* The cozy will be for a Nerdopolis challenge on what got you into your fandom.
* Finishing the leaf scarf for Nerdopolis Area 51.
* Maaaybe finishing a Seraphina Shawl, also for Nerdopolis Area 51. Duh! The second mitt will totally work for Area 51, and will be less work to do!
* Making a cream-colored sun hat for Nerdopolis Ice Cream challenge.
* Might do some paper quilling for Nerdopolis' The Lab challenge. The Lab is for non-yarn crafts, and this month's theme is Flora and Fauna, so I'll make some flowers, maybe?

There is one other Nerdopolis challenge I haven't come up with anything for yet: tongue twisters. OH! I can make something with crochet shell stitches for the "She sells sea shells by the seashore" tongue twister. Yup, that will work!

Hopefully I will get more energy so I can complete all these. I've been tired the past few days and sleeping a lot, and it's annoying me.

Wow, all those projects will certainly keep you busy, and there's plenty of variety to keep the enthusiasm levels up, assuming you can summon the energy. Tiredness is a nuisance so hopefully the extra sleep you've been getting will help.

I love your creativity, so many ideas! I just look at yarn and think 'Sweater'. *grins*

No crafting today, but I've spend a lot of time editing photos and messing around on my website. I'm all set the the fb live streams of various medieval-themed things to distract me from being sad about the cancelled festival. Happy to be stuck at home on holidays. :)

I've realised I have a lot of outfits on hangers in photos and not on me, so I really need to get my act together and take some pics of me wearing things. It's hard to manage the timer and my kitty is a hopeless photographer.

Sounds like you could use someone to take the photos for you.

Yes. Everytime we get together, I take lovely photos of my friends in pretty poses, but when I stand against the backdrop, all I get is blurry pictures or weird dress angles or the dress is cut off or I look weird. I always say if their hair is sticking out or their headpiece is wonky or it's not a good angle for their nose, but other people don't seem to afford me that courtesy. I end up with a whole heap of pictures I can't use. I need to try again with a self timer on my phone. It's hard though.

That's sad. Some people just aren't good photographers. I hope you have better luck with your phone. Honestly, I wouldn't know where to start! I only have a cheap mobile I can't even remember how to use.

For sure. More to do today, and I've updated my sewing pages on my website as I go so I'll be posting about that tomorrow, so I don't spam the world with my medieval stuff.

And I'm afraid I won't be around much in July. picowrimo is in session, and I've been running the show in the recent couple of years, which means I'll be rather busy with writing, commenting and putting up the daily posts.

But I'll drop by and comment here from time to time nonetheless, enjoying your reports and pictures before I can return to some crafting myself. Happy crafting, everyone!

No worries, we can't all be crafting all the time, there are always other things to do.
