Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
Today's Question: No question today.
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've also been looking at patterns. I think I've found the one to use up the red yarn that I was knitting up earlier this year. That sweater was never going to fit comfortably, so I need to start over with a different design. I've found a nice lacy one that should look great.
I've found a couple of possibilities for my fuchsia yarn as well. I want cables for that one. Still got lots of knitting magazines to look through though, I might find something I like better.

Now I'm starting to think I need to make a sweater in addition to arm warmers.

I highly recommend sweaters. I'm going through my patterns and seeing so many I want to make so I'll have to knit faster!

Good luck with making yours!

I've also typed up and printed out a few recipes for the book, so that I can continue working on it. I'm getting cautiously optimistic about finishing this project in time. ;))

After talking to my mom, I decided against giving my nephew a coffee cup cozy. His brother's a big coffee drinker but I don't think this nephew is, so instead I'm going to make him fingerless mitts, which he could use as he's going to college in Wisconsin. So I frogged the small progress I made on the cozy and cast on for the first mitt, but didn't get any further because ZOOM LOOM!
This morning I also knit another leaf on my scarf.
Finally, I designed two knitting and two crochet squares. See, my crafting competition is celebrating its 10 year anniversary, and they're asking all teams to design a square in celebration (one of each craft, but the square should feature the same design). So I knocked out two designs to show my team for their opinion. I'll probably design some more tomorrow.

Fingerless mitts are always useful. While I was without heat for several months last winter I knitted myself loads of arm warmers, just plain rib, then sew up the side leaving a hole for the thumb. Making and wearing them helped me keep from freezing.
Yay for another leaf, and for all your designing!
