Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Today's Question: No question today.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

making it back to pattern rows is always nice! Or getting out of them. I mean the transition to another part. :D

You're making impressive progress!

Finished the 3rd skein just a bit ago. At 37 inches wide for the blanket. I took the day off of house pre-moving organizing and I think maybe I should make sure I do that once a week. I'm going to run out of steam. The only thing I did was trade an email with the insurance agent and calm down my husband when he started freaking out again. HA!

That's really pretty!

At least just this colorway. I spied one called genie the other day (minty greens and shaded grays up to charcoal) and it would also make an excellent blankie.

Very pretty!

What a lovely blanket!

I have stitched a bit of the bandstand, and am going back for the last bit of sky.

Yay for progress.

I've sewed the inside lining and the outside of a silk surcote yesterday, and in the next few days will try to make a start on joining it together. I also need to catch up on journal reading! I'm way behind!

Its like a dark sky blue or a light mid blue with a creamy lining.

That sounds like a lot of progress in one day, but I can't sew. :)
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 10:58 pm (UTC)
Actually, I'm machine sewing this and will take it apart and hand stitch when I have more time.

Impressive! I haven't dared my hands on anything bigger than a stuffed toy since school. You must be a deft hand at sewing.

I usually sew by hand. There aren't a lot of seams in proper medieval clothing, so it's easier than you'd think!

I've selected some craft papers for my next project: a children's cookbook that has to be finished by mid-September. I haven't even started yet, but at least I now have a vague idea what it should be like, which is also progress, isn't it? *g*

Prep work (which does include the dreaming and thinking, to a limit) is a vastly under appreciated part of the creation/design process.
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 04:53 pm (UTC)
That is very true. Odd, actually, since prep work takes up a great deal of time.
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 11:02 pm (UTC)
I love pictures! Prep and thinking is a very important part of the process.
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 11:00 pm (UTC)
Ooo that's an exciting project!

More done on the crewelwork kit #1. I think another hour or two of work on it and I should have it done.

... then on to the next #2!

I had to resort to Google because I didn't know what crewelwork is - that's some impressive craft and no mistake, as Sam Gamgee would say. Will there be pictures later?

This one is a very basic, beginners kit. ^_^ I will post photos when it’s complete.
Wednesday, May 26th, 2021 11:01 pm (UTC)
I love pictures!

That's coming along quickly!
