Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What kinds of organizers do you like to hold your arts and crafts supplies?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I've ironed the torn-up bedsheet (all 64 pieces of it), and I've also finished mending the little textile shopping bag, which is double success. Next, I'll choose the 12 pieces for this year's cherry pit pillows and apply the felt decorations. I'm playing with the thought of breaking out Louise the Younger (= mini sewing machine) for sewing them together in the inside, but that's always something of an ordeal, so... we'll see.

Sounds like you've been busy! Well done on getting everything done successfully!

Louise the Younger

...do I spot another Madeleine L'Engle fan?

No idea who that is I am afraid. It is just so that both our washing machine and the sewing machine are called Louise.

I have FOUR ROWS left on a stupid washcloth for a class sample. I just need to DO THEM, take photos, and email art director. SOON.

I started the Sand Dollar over. It's a cast-on of 140 stitches and that's really too much for DPNs, even if you use five to hold stitches and a sixth to knit. My stitches kept falling off the needles which REALLY annoyed me, plus it was a huge, floppy mess. Also, kitchen cotton is not that fun to knit with.

So today I dug out some DK acrylic and started over, doing traveling loop on l-o-n-g circulars. I should probably magic loop instead of traveling loop, but (a) I am lazy (b) I don't mind a big loop slapping at my belly all that much. I did the cast on and one purl round before I pooped out.

Tiger Eye Lace Scarf is a no-go. I started it twice, and both times ran into trouble in the first lace vertical repeat. I do not want to be fighting a pattern right now, so instead I'm going to use the yarn (orange fingering wool, colorway name "Sunset") for Lily Go's Eternal Flame crocheted shawl. Yellow/gold beads have been ordered. Should be pretty, and less annoying than knitting right now.

I also said "fuck it, we ball" and started the foundation chain for Sunbeam Tea without having successfully completed a good, ample swatch. I may live to regret this. I'm counting stitches by putting markers every fourth chain.

This all sounds like a lot, but I am still have an issue of putting things down after 30-45 minutes. So I'm not getting a ton of work done, and am still frustrated that I get bored / impatient. It's so unlike me! Stitch Club thinks my mind is too full of work & health stress, and they are probably right.
