Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What kinds of organizers do you like to hold your arts and crafts supplies?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

So I have this scrap of a gorgeous burnt orange yarn that I desperately want to do something with - It's super super chunky, so it looks like I have a decent amount left, but I knew it was likely less than it seemed. Still, I think I've cast it on about 20 times today trying to make it work for a hat or scarf but there's just not enough for much of anything. I debated turning the last hat attempt into a headband but I don't wear headbands. Still considering it though, because my ears have started really hurting in the cold so maybe I need to start.

It could be your starter headband.

Good luck!

I do hope you find a handy use for your wool! I like headbands for days it's warm enough I don't want a full hat but I still want some protection for my ears.

Yesterday I went to Lynne's and we made blue & purple butterfly cards and I was able to glue the magnets on to her set of the bottle cap magnets we made last week. That all went well. The rest of the visit made for one of those days where I'm so worn out and brain fried, I can't do anything else for the rest if the day even though I was only there for 2 1/2 hours. When I got there, she was already agitated, had 7 problems she wanted fixed NOW, and had decided they were all my fault before I walked in the door, which I think had everything to do with me being the only other person there at the time. We had repeated communication problems. The icing on the cake though was when she was asking me about her stereo and I told her it stopped working last year and I hadn't been able to figure out why (it turns on and runs, just no sound comes out of the speakers and it's a self contained unit), she told me no offense, but I'm not a man so I can't be smart enough to fix it anyway. This is when I decided it was time for me to go home.

Today, I fussy cut some mermaids for a tag I hope to make with her next week.

I'm hoping to finish hot gluing my set of the bottle cap magnets we made and to repair a spring hanging art thing I made that the butterfly keeps falling off of before I put the hot glue gun away.

Oh, and I found flower pressing instructions for my friend who wants to press some of the flowers from the condolence bouquet she was sent when her mother passed earlier this month.

I'm pretty sure I'm not getting any knitting done today.

Sorry it was such a difficult day at Lynne's. Hope it goes better next time! I am intrigued about the mermaids though. Good luck with the bottle cap magnets! So kind of you to help your friend with a really important flower pressing project.

I finished my hat! Now I have a matching hat & scarf from this yarn! These are for donation & I got the yarn free from a volunteer program at work.

I'll probably start another of the same hat in a different size. I have more of this yarn left.

Way to go! That’s excellent! So sweet of you to do work to donate.

Woke up and realized I’d replied to other people but did not make an actual post.

Worked on my corner-to-corner blanket a bit the other night, but have also resumed work on the swan doily project. So far so good!
