Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What do you wish you could get right first time, every time?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Wow. Is that a dozen bees left to go or just a dozen wings? Is this for a batch or All The Bees??

I spent a few days just melting in the heatwave.
When I wasn’t doing that, though, I made 4 squares (hexagons) for a small blanket! I have a terrible track record for actually finishing projects bigger than a pair of socks, or, possibly a shawl that I’m very excited about, but I’m hoping that the ability to make a motif when I need something for my hands to do and then tuck it away until I have enough will help me get through it.

Heatwaves and yarn crafts don't mix well.

I had made some mosaic knitted coasters as a possible class project, but the art director nixed that idea as being too hard, which I can understand. On the way home from hospital today (don't worry, I was just there for an allergy blood test, nothing major), I stopped at Michaels and picked up some more kitchen cotton. This afternoon I started knitting a very simple coaster. Mostly garter, with some stockinette stripes.
Still don't really have much of a desire to craft. I'm mostly doing the new coasters out of obligation, plus a teensy bit of "well, I'll design my own beginner pattern" which means fun of exploration and testing things out. I am not sure I would have started knitting one today had I not decided to go with my own designed pattern, TBH.

Good luck with the coaster designs for the knitting class!
Hopefully the crafting mojo will return before too long. You've just had too many things not working out, it's dented your enthusiasm.
Hope the blood test went well.
