20 rows on the front of my sweater, I'm only about 16 rows from the neck shaping now!

Hail was forecast for today, so there wasn't any. It did rain though.

That really is growing fast.

It is, now I've got the pattern memorised. I did make a mistake today, had to unpick the end of a purl row and fiddle about with the stitches on the row before because I'd miscounted and one of the holes was in the wrong place, but it was a quick fix.

Yes, I think so. And there's also one of the flower beds in the gardens.

It's a relatively small pattern (fits in a 6in hoop) so things grow quite quickly.

Yesterday my crewelwork kit showed up just before lunch. At lunch I unpacked it and started stitching. I stitched on and off through the afternoon while I worked (I’m in a very “thinkie” section right now, so lots of pausing between typing), and on and off into the evening between other tasks.

It’s a very relaxing, simple kit. Only three colors (main color and a couple of shading tones, all stem stitch. Easy to pick up and put down. The sense of accomplishment is great compared to the long slog that has been the baby dragon cross stitch.

I’m already learning a lot about wool embroidery thread compared to cotton/etc!

I have been crafting a little bit, but haven't managed to get up to date and post about any of it. I got another year older, went to a dance comp with my niece who got her first pointe ballet shoes, did some sewing on my blue surcote, made some mask extenders for work (they're a band which goes across the back of the head with buttons on to hook the face mack onto to avoid sore ears from the elastic if your mask is on for 8 hours straight), and I had some really great success thrift shopping. I took some dance photos and I'm still editing them, but the niece is 14 so those pics aren't going on social media, although I'm super proud of them.

A little bit of crafting is better than none.

The mask extenders sound excellent. The ear discomfort is the only thing about wearing masks that annoys me.

Congrats and belated happy birthday! Also good for your niece! I took ballet lessons for a while as a kid, but ruined my toes going en pointe too young and without proper footwear. =/

The shoes are better now too. There's gel at the toes and gel toe socks and silicon toe spacers if that's what your foot needs. It's great!

That's great! Ballet dancers' feet have suffered so much for so long, it's good to see science is making improvements.
