Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Got another 20 row pattern repeat done on my sleeve. The rows are slowly getting longer!


Also got in another walk so both pairs of boots have been out twice. Clocks do forwards tonight, so I'll be tired tomorrow.

I love the clocks going back in autumn, I revel in that extra hour, but losing an hour is torture!

I just hate resetting all our clocks every six months. We haven’t arrived in the digital era horologically and never will.

I only really have to reset my bedroom clock. It's the only one I look at. My watch only gets wound when I use it, so IO reset it then.

That's one of the things I hate about sleeves. Do you knit both at once?

Yesterday and today I've been building a giant tomato cage from cut saplings.

That sounds like a big job!

Some things have to be built where they will stay.

I worked a bit on my tiny Santa hats. It was finicky work, sewing on 18 white felt stripes, 1cm by 5cm each. I also started decorating them with tiny pine branch motifs. It will take a long time to add the sparkly pom-poms and the sequin stars and to sew the little hats together, but I do have the time. Of course, I still have to sew the teddy bears themselves, but as I already said, I do have the time.

Progress is progress, and sometimes it's good to get the fiddly parts out of the way first.

You are starting early, so you have lots of time for the fiddly bits.

I made an unexpected skirt, by pulling apart a pinafore that I made a little while ago. I decided I didn't like the garment when I put it on, but the fabric was too good to waste, so I now have a skirt. I was shocked to discover that I can now hand sew a skirt within about three days.
