Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question: What are your crafting goals for 2026?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Three more rows for a total of 94/150 on the blanket done!

I've sewn together the ears of the elephant plushie because I could do them with a much thinner thread, which I had in the right colour. I still need to go back to the haberdashery and buy thicker grey thread, but at least I could make some modest progress.

I searched patterns and tried a few the past couple of days. I'm doing this CRAFTO bingo card on Ravelry, and I needed to complete a second project for January. Nothing I tried stuck. I'm finding knitting too fiddly, which is awful because that's what I want to do right now!

My crafting mojo has mostly been gone for a while. I don't feel like myself because of it.

Anyway, I'm running out of time, so I guess I am just going to admit defeat and not do a second project. My hands don't seem to want to do it.

I've got some ideas for other projects to do, now, because my video game is having a Fan Art contest. Submissions are due in very early March, and I don't know if I have the oomph/time to do anything my brain has settled on. ESPECIALLY since it seems to not want to craft right now. I was a finalist for the last contest and love the idea of submitting something again, but... well, I'll just have to see what I can do in a month's time.

seems I'm on a roll, which my joints are absolutely gonna make me regret sooner or later lol

anyway, since I clearly don't have enough WiPs (this is a lie, I have Too Many) and, more importantly, since I really wanna make some lace curtains for the craft room, I went digging in the Antique Pattern Library last night, found an old bedspread pattern I liked, and am now making a test/gauge swatch lol

it's ugly as hell because I'm using 2 strands of crochet cotton held together and I grabbed an AWFUL color combo, but it doesn't need to be pretty it just needs to be the right size!

honestly, for an old pattern it's remarkably legible. tho I could wish they believed in line breaks back then lol

Crochet curtains sound like a giant project. I hope your joints hold out. Whilst I have little problem with sewing, I find that knitting and crochet no longer agree with my elbow, wrist and finger joints.

I basted in the two sleeve heads of my jacket project, but only managed to do the actual sewing on one. I may tackle the second one today.
