Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.
This Week's Question: What are your crafting goals for 2026?
If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Done!
Today there's 4 inches of snow outside, so any other creativity will need to be indoors. I have options.
Re: Done!
Oof, hope you don't get any more snow!

I'm achy as hell and probably pushing my limits more than I should, but I think everything in that room's been sorted through now so it's down to moving things around and that part isn't my job so I get to rest now lol

I have now picked up all of those stiches and tinked back a row. When I picked them up, some of them ran further.
Now I'm ready to add a new color but I'm doing that another day.

Also managed to start some of the sewing on the turtle project. I always overthink how much time and effort and difficulty it will be to sew something, especially when the kiddos were awake, but the kiddos were happy for me to sit on the sofa and pretend to be an airline passenger for their vacation game, so I did what I might have done on a flight anyway.

Friday was the fiber group meeting, sort of. Technically, we weren't supposed to meet because the library staff member in charge of our group was off work, but since I had other library business anyway and sometimes the calendar is wrong, I showed up anyway. What were they going to do? Kick me out for knitting in the quiet reading room unsupervised? I was not the only one with this idea. Not long after I set up, another regular showed up and told me she had similar reasoning. All in total, we had 4 of our regulars and 5 new people (3 of which were children who were accompanying 1 of the new adults). Of the regulars that showed up, 3 of us knew we weren't technically supposed to meet. It was kind of funny. One of our new people alters existing clothing. The kids all knew how to crochet really well and their adult has been trying to learn how to knit unsuccessfully from YouTube videos. I showed her a simpler way to cast on and walked her through knitting a row. I gave her homework, lol. I told her if she practiced knitting between then and next meeting, I'd show her how to purl.
I'd will admit to the vibes being a little off, but we'll see how next week goes.
