Hello to all members, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

I did a lot of gardening—helping with a mistletoe pruning on the apple tree and also seeding up my new bed with quite a lot of flowers and veg. But I also had a scratchy throat and a bit of a cough that progressed as the morning wore on, so the rest of the day has been mostly on my duff reading.

Yay for the gardening, and I love that you have mistletoe. I've only seen it growing on a tree once.

Hope the cough doesn't get any worse. Maybe it's allergies.

I don’t think it’s allergies, I don’t tend to get seasonal allergies (outside of mold in really damp autumns) and the kiddo had it a couple of days before me (at least the cough, he said yes when I asked about the throat but at barely 3 it’s hard to know that’s accurate). So, another cold from #nurserylife

We have a lot of mistletoe on the trees around here. It’s really pretty, but really awful for the trees they’re sucking off of XD Same with ivy... pretty, but awful for our trees. (We’ve been taking it off the ones in the garden, but leaving them in the woodland.)

There’s a very tall tree in the wood just on the other side of the property line that is all mistletoe. It’s amazing.

That's the trouble with young children (or so I've heard), they bring all the germs home with them.

Yes, parasitic plants can take a heavy toll on host plants. Ivy is the worst for me because it's everywhere in the garden, and has choked several shrubs, although I've managed to rescue a couple. I was trying to clear some more yesterday, up until it started hailing on me, when I retreated indoors and finished the back of my sweater.

The mistletoe tree sounds fabulous!
