Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

This Week's Question (courtesy of [personal profile] cora): What was your last project that got put into "time out" and why?

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.

I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

I had read your report last night as well! I was sure you'd be so pooped today.
Saturday, November 1st, 2025 09:59 pm (UTC)
Congratulations! I hope you allow yourself a little rest after this.

Dark, windy, cold. Took the day off of house painting (I did finish a section yesterday).

I'm on track to finish the current trivet tonight. Starting the last round of surface crochet.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 12:21 am (UTC)
I did get finished!

You see? Even sh*tty weather can be used for something good.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 12:21 am (UTC)
I had to clean the bathrooms though, no excuse!

Housework is EVIL!

Definitely indoor project weather.

Well done.

Today I've labelled all 24 of my spiced oil mini-bottles, plus the four spiced vinegar bottles. The vinegar still needs two weeks of setting, but all I still have to do is to fill it into the bottles. It is a true relief getting there.

Hardly any crafting left to be done. I might make one more pencil holder and I'll definitely make a few more surprise packages, but that will be basically it. November is picowrimo session, which is why I was so eager to be done with the fair stuff.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 07:46 pm (UTC)
Thanks. With most of the fair stuff out of my hair, I might even pick up momentum... eventually.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 12:15 am (UTC)
That's great that you are basically done, enjoy wrimo!
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 07:47 pm (UTC)
I always do! I've basically inherited the running of the comm, although I'm not the actual owner, so my inbox is pleasantly full for a month, three times a year. *g*

Excellent work!

Good luck with your writing!
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 07:48 pm (UTC)
Thanks. I'd love to do a chunk of undisturbed writing, but for that there's very little choice in our home. I'll have to make things work the best I can.

My fingers are crossed for you.

Finished sewing the zippers onto this today!
Crocheted pouch with a zig-zaggy pattern. One of the two kinds of yarn is light green, and the other is dark green and white twisted together which worked up to look kind of tweedy.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 12:15 am (UTC)
Neat, I never do zippers.
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 07:09 am (UTC)
Very nice!
Sunday, November 2nd, 2025 07:49 pm (UTC)
Oh, it looks lovely!

Today and yesterday's crafting has pretty much been detangling Steve 2.0. It's so close to being done. The tangles had originally formed a ring, but now the ring has opened up to be a straight line and instead of tight, overlapping tangles, it's more of a much looser mass.

It was also about the only thing I could do while we had trick or treaters last night.

Yesterday at work, I also had to create a whole bunch of reports to appease the CPA. No creativity involved, but they were made into existence.

I also tried once again to buy orange yarn. The yarn aisle where I usually buy yarn looked like even more of a waste land than last time I saw it. If only I had wanted yellow. That is about the only color they had.

Today, all of my energy went towards my trip to the library. There books to turn in, materials I had on hold to pick up, trying to find the last copy of the exact issue of the book I need for book club this month, collecting my mother's and my paintings from the art show, and we were scheduled for the first slot of the day for the library's monthly escape room. It was haunted house themed for Halloween and ran all day yesterday as well. According to the staff member running it, our team was the first to complete it. They gave us candy.

Thanks! It really was.

Thanks. I will get him detangled yet!

Yeah. I may have to break down and go to the expensive yarn store soon. (They are where I got original Steve.)
Wednesday, November 5th, 2025 12:21 am (UTC)
Yeah, I already have 2 of Steve's siblings. I shall be careful.
Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 09:43 pm (UTC)
I will! I have a friend who volunteered to help me with that when the time comes.
Saturday, December 13th, 2025 06:11 am (UTC)
Fingers crossed

Sounds like busy days, even though with a bit of frustration. At least you've achieved various things, which is always good.
Tuesday, November 4th, 2025 11:31 pm (UTC)
Very busy indeed. Thanks
