Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Preparations for Halloween are continuing. I think I have everything I need mostly gathered together. Tomorrow I will move certain items into the garage — infrastructure things like all the pieces of wood that will create the framework to hang the lights and decorations from. I'll also get the paste table I use set up. It's a bit rickety, but it does the job.


I swept the drive, clearing all the leaves, but I'll probably have to do it again tomorrow and Friday.


I have Meeces, Mini Meeces, Pumpkins, and some bookmarks in baskets, with more in boxes and bags of all of them for restocking, and I found my spider web that will have some of the bouncy spiders hanging from it.

If this cold would go away, and if it wasn't forecast to rain, I would be happier about everything, but I will do my best and hope the rain won't be bad enough to blow inside the garage. I set up only just inside because there isn't much room in front of the car, which is as far back as it will go.

Fingers crossed that is simply cloudy. Of course the stupid cold is lingering!

The last time it forecast light rain showers at Halloween we got a continuous torrential downpour, so I'm hoping that won't happen again! If it looks like it's going that way, I might have to evict my car for a few hours.

I'm trying, but there is still a huge amount to do, a couple of hours at least for the set-up, on Friday. And I need to watch the weather.

I did various small (but time-consuming and frustrating) tasks in preparation for the fair.

People have given me special chocolates a couple times recently and I also thought them too sweet.

If I had anyone to take them I'd have given them away. But I don't want to waste anything (especially such expensive stuff), so I had to come up with an idea to put them to good use.

Continued cold and rainy weather. First frost expected tonight, so I cut some peppers that are still green off the plant.

Worked a bit on the trivet, though it was mostly a project day. I've picked out some tasks for rainy days.

Husband had to have an emergency appendectomy, so while I was at home fretting (he went into the ER late at night after the kiddos were in bed and I had to stay home with them) I scrolled Instagram like you do and found an origami tutorial and decided to try it out, since I have a terrible amount of origami paper and also leftover chrysanthemum knot tassels.

Turns out I did learn how to make these years ago, mostly as a fun way to send money as a gift, and once I got started I remembered how, but I had fun picking out the colors and may well use the method again to send my niece some money for Christmas now that she's past the age of wanting actual gifts.
