Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

Ugh, chores. Laundry, dishwashing... No crafting, but a good amount of writing, so there's that.

Yes, it is, but it's an everyday thing for me, part of my daily routine, so I don't usually mention it.

Yes, and I had a good writing day. Chores suck up time. Having the fire to do every day as well uses up a good hour, but it's nice to sit around in a t-shirt instead of being bundled in multiple layers and several blankets.

More culinary crafting for me: I made ginger syrup today. The labels for the bottles had been designed months ago, I just had to apply them. Another item ticked off my to-do list for the fair.

Yesterday I finished a birthday card for a friend, but I haven't been able to give it to her.

Today, I went shopping after work hoping to find tape runner refills, black yarn, and orange yarn. The refills were still not in stock, there wasn't even a place for them on the wall. The yarn shelves were barren. They haven't restocked in about a month and almost every yarn slot had a sales tag. I did manage a skein of black yarn. The other options left were 2 different kinds of coral yarn, neon pink, black with glitter, and a large stack of super jumbo skeins of sage green yarn.

I'm over 2/3 of the way through the striped scarf. I'm thinking of adding fringe.

That wasn't a good shopping day. I wonder whether they will get more yarn in or if they're just getting rid of what they've got.

It really wasn't. The non-crafting part of the shopping trip went even worse and seasonal is currently 90% Christmas and less than half of what's left is Halloween >_< About the yarn, it's hard to say. In the US, there is currently a yarn shortage and this time of year, this store does normally have a yarn sale to make space for Christmas season specialty yarns. (The jumbo skeins of sage colored yarn are actually leftover stock from last year's Christmas season yarn.) But they also keep downsizing their yarn section. The sale tags were the regular sales tags, not the closeout tags, but that also doesn't always mean anything.

Well, hopefully they will get more in perhaps in the new year. A yarn shortage seems par for the course with everything else that's happening in the US. If it's usually ordered from overseas, that's likely to be a problem.

Scarves without fringes are just sad.
