Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.
Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?
There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

If anyone has any questions of their own about the community, or suggestions for tags, questions to be asked on the check-in posts, or if anyone is interested in playing check-in host for a week here on the community, which would entail putting up the daily check-in posts and responding to comments, go to the Questions & Suggestions post and leave a comment.
I now declare this Check-In OPEN!

Also I helped a friend re-learn how to knit, since she comes along to crafting group and says she wants to learn again to make things for her daughter and also little sweaters for her super cute dog (who loves me and cuddled with me while our kids played).
I did get some more sewing done on the baby blanket, which is...much smaller than I thought it'd be despite making a hundred motifs, but that's okay, it'll still be big enough for a baby.

Crochet cotton has many uses. I just wish I could remember where I put my stash because the drawstring on one pair of track pants broke and I need to make a new one.

Yesterday was card making with Lynne. We did simple fall themed cards, just gluing down precut papers & some self adhesive rhinestones. She seemed to like them. I finished the design of next week's card. It ended up having far more steps than intended. Cross your fingers for me.
Knitting wise, I've been working on the second half of the cable hat. It had a rough start. I had to frog the ribbed brim three times and there is a nearly undetectable screw up in the second row of the cable chart (I can't even see it now). There was also a tense few minutes during the row that transitions from the ribbing to the cable pattern where I blanked on how to do the increases and couldn't look them up. After a few tries, it came back to me, luckily, and now I'm making steady progress.
Today, I got to run some errands I've been having to put off and ended up getting a lot of crafting supplies: skeins of yarn for an upcoming workbook project, blank "hotel" style keyrings, fake blood bags, some blank calendars, donut erasers (Funko props), some play coins I'm going to paint, and more adhesive to use making cards with Lynne.
I'm actually a little salty about the adhesive. I cannot afford to keep her in adhesive and none of the people who have said they're going to get it for her have and she is basically out. So, I've decided since it's just to two of us now, I will buy one spare tape runner and one set of refills (which the store is not carrying at the moment), and they will stay with me when we are not actively using them, for the time being. After that, we will have to resort to glue sticks which did not go well last time.

Glad the card-making went well, and good luck for next week.
You will get to a point where you remember how to do all the things like increases (there are many different ways of doing those, depending on what you want them to look like). All of it will eventually become second nature so you won't have to think about it.
That's so annoying. I hate when people say they'll do something and then don't do it. Maybe nag them about it. You shouldn't have to be paying for someone else's supplies.
