Hello to all members, passers-by, curious onlookers, and shy lurkers, and welcome to our regular daily check-in post. Just leave a comment below to let us know how your current projects are progressing, or even if they're not.

Checking in is NOT compulsory, check in as often or as seldom as you want, this community isn't about pressure it's about encouragement, motivation, and support. Crafting is meant to be fun, and what's more fun than sharing achievements and seeing the wonderful things everyone else is creating?

There may also occasionally be questions, but again you don't have to answer them, they're just a way of getting to know each other a bit better.

All 34 meeces (32 sparkly and two others) now have their faces. I haven't taken mugshots yet, but I plan to.

Not sure how sparkly they will look in the photos when I take them, the meeces have stripes in purple that has a sparkly thread in it and I'm hoping the photos will at least capture a glimmer, but there are no guarantees. I will do my best. Got to have good daylight for the attempt though, and the weather is unhelpfully being mostly grey and wet...

I woke up today without hurting fingers. Go figure. My regenerative abilities must be better than I thought. I didn't do much handiwork, though - just sew closed two more cherry pit pillows. Instead, I made the labels for my apple and elderflower jam, plus the little bonnets for the jars. It took half the morning, but I think they look neat. See for yourselves:

Hello! I am new to DW but not to knitting. I'm currently making a vest out of gorgeous black alpaca and sari silk yarn.



My favourite crafting tip is to just do it. Don't wait until you're 'good enough' or have enough time or the best supplies. Make what you can when you can, with whatever you have.

Also a great tip. I'm all for just diving into something and seeing what happens. It's the same approach I use with writing. Anything creative, just do it, because you never know until you try.

Going to retry making a 14th century breath freshener with different quantities today, but I also have a lot of unpacking and housework that I've been putting off that needs to happen and I promised my young Columbian neighbour I'd help with their moving out tidy up.
